Leech Lake

This was a tournament I got super excited about when I saw it on the schedule. Never in my life have I had a national level tournament so close to home. Home lake advantage? Not necessarily. Though I had fished the lake twice before they were both over a decade ago. One as a co-angler yet. Though smallmouth were present, the lake's largemouth did all the heavy lifting. Fast forward to 2024 and the smallmouth have taken over the winning bags. Though I didn't know where they lived, I knew what northern Minnesota bass eat and what habitat they seek out throughout the season. No points to worry about, sights set on only 5 fish a day to win..
